Hey everyone, I'm very new to the tattoo idea.  Been thinking for a very long time and finally found something that I decided I wouldn't regret LOL.  I'm a very cheap person and I know tats aren't but I do have one question.  Where is the best tattoo place via price / quality in the HRM area or down towards South Shore?   The -only- place I'm familiar with is Adept on Quinpool Rd in Halifax.   My tat is gonna be a word in Japanese that I think would be around the size of my palm (I have average hand size... I think lol).   Any info would be greatly appreciated : )

This is often a matter of opinion.  LOL

Myself, and Mother, both got our work done by Jason Suter at Permanent Ink.  He's on Oxford Street in Halifax.  We highly recommend him.

I can't wait to get the experience, I've seen pics of my friend getting it done and she looked like she was in pain but it's because the dude basically chewed up her back : (.

Its hurts man, i mean if it didn't hurt everyone would get a tat.. I just don't mind it at all. I did 9 and half hours on my rib cage, now that is painful lol
Location of the tat makes a big diff in the pain level. If ya need advice feel free to add me to msn if ya use it. I have 14 tats myself and have won of few 1st places at conventions in Maine.. I like to consider myself a very experienced ink collector :p lol

South Shore:
Heidi (SWR member I work with) was telling me that the guy who owns Artistic Issues in Bridgewater does nice work (and good prices).  But damn if I can remember what she said his name was!  Aaron, I think.  She has a Marilyn Monroe portrait by him and some others.  Actually, Heidi has a pic in the Face to Name thread, where I believe she's showing some of her tatts.

Sweet!  Thanks Paula, thank Heidi for me too haha.  If he can do a Marilyn Monroe protrait, he could definitely do what I want flawlessly.  Being able to go in Bridgewater to get it done would be so much better than going all the way into Halifax (the truck chugs gas faster than I chug chocolate milk LOL, though that has never really stopped us but still, less $$$).

Tattoos hurt. Before I got my first one, I asked all kinds of people and they all told me, "it's just kind of irritating" and yeah it's irritating just like someone poking you with something sharp is irritating. Tongue

Having said that, the one on my right cheek didn't hurt a bit. It was like being coloured on by a dull pencil. Lines hurt, like being drawn on with a very sharp pencil. Smiley

Yeah lines are always the fun part lol  Some larger shading needles hurt too. Nothin like having your skin  stabbed by 10 or more needles at once lol..
Top of your foot is a bitch of a place to get a tat. Pretty much the entire top of my foot is done it didn't tickle at all.
BAHHHH all this tattoo talk is making go thru Ink withdrawls.... I need another tat..
